Head of School

The Gateway Schools

Bob Cunningham is Head of School for The Gateway Schools in New York City, which serve students with learning disabilities in kindergarten through eighth grade. Mr. Cunningham holds a B.S. in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and two Masters Degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University, one in Learning Disabilities and the other in Curriculum and Teaching.

Mr. Cunningham has been a teacher in general education and special education at both the elementary and secondary levels as well as an educational evaluator and an administrator for both general and special education programs in several suburban school districts. Mr. Cunningham has also served in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Teachers College as an instructor for courses related to learning disabilities, including the educational assessment of children, the identification and education of students with learning disabilities, and inclusive education.
