Support Cassidy Amendment on Teacher Training for Learning Disabilities and Dyslexia

Written April 10, 2015

Do you believe schools should train teachers about learning disabilities, like dyslexia? We do.

Right now, you have a chance to make that possible. But we need you to take action now!

On April 14th, the Senate HELP Committee will debate the bipartisan bill introduced by Senators Alexander (R-TN) and Murray (D-WA). During that debate, Senator Cassidy (R-LA) will introduce his amendment, referred to as the “Cassidy Amendment Title II Part A.”

We need you to tell the Senate to support Senator Cassidy’s amendment on Title II Part A. This amendment will let schools spend federal funds on professional development for learning disabilities and dyslexia.

The amendment allows states and school districts to invest federal funds in professional development programs related to learning disabilities, like dyslexia. These training programs will help educators understand, identify and address the early indicators of learning disabilities in children.

Tell your Senator to support Cassidy Amendment Title II Part A and support all kids with learning disabilities.
