Philanthropy and LD Resources Internship

Internship Description

We are currently seeking applications for interns to join us for the spring 2016, summer 2016 and fall 2016 semesters.

NCLD interns will work in NCLD’s NYC office in TriBeCa and will report directly to Program Associates in the areas of Philanthropy and Development. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in gaining experience in the non-profit field, working closely with the NCLD Team on activities including fundraising and development, data management, understanding learning and attention issues and program planning. Interns will work hand-in-hand with all NCLD staff, whose expertise and guidance will assure a productive and enjoyable internship experience.

Philanthropy Intern Responsibilities:

The Intern will assist in all aspects of fundraising and philanthropy including:

  • Conducting corporation and foundation research
  • Engaging in donor prospect research
  • Assisting on planning and execution of special events and donor cultivation events, including NCLD’s Annual Benefit
  • Drafting language for letters and other materials
  • Helping with direct mail and email campaigns
  • Data entry

Schedule can be flexible, but must be able to commit to at least two days per week during normal business hours. The intern will receive a stipend of $10 per day for lunch and travel expenses will be reimbursed (with original receipts).

LD Resources Intern Responsibilities:

The intern will assist in all aspects of LD Resources including:

  • Updating School Database
  • Scholarship Management
  • Updating annual scholarship database
  • Scholarship award planning
  • Conducting targeted research for new project activities

Schedule can be flexible, but must be able to commit to at least two days a week during normal business hours. The intern will receive a stipend of $10 per day for lunch and travel expenses will be reimbursed (with original receipts).

Qualifications

The ideal applicants undergraduate or graduate students, or recent college graduates with an interest in NCLD’s mission and some background in non-profit management, fundraising, special events, and/or educational practice. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized and possess a keen eye for details.
