Luke Hayes

Director of Mobilization

Luke Hayes is the Director of Mobilization for Understood. Luke leads the effort to create community among parents, and help them advocate for more training and resources in their local and state schools.

Prior to NCLD, Luke worked for several years on political campaigns across the country, including Virginia, Texas and Nevada. In 2012, Luke lead President Obama’s re-election efforts in Nevada as the State Director for his campaign. Most recently, Luke was the Field Director for the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs in New York City, working to organize and connect immigrant communities to city services, such as IDNYC.

Luke enjoys basketball, all things sci-fi/fantasy, and being the “cool” uncle to his niece and nephew. He graduated from Vassar College with a degree in Religious Studies.
