Letter from NCLD (June 2006 LD News)

Dear NCLD Supporters and Constituents:

NCLD launched the online Parent Center in April to provide support to parents of children with learning disabilities as they navigate the special education system. We are delighted that record numbers of you have visited the new Center, viewed the information and resources and downloaded publications to share with other parents and educators. The month of May was the busiest in the history of LD.org!

As is true with all of NCLD's resources, we are committed to keeping this Center up to date and responsive to your needs and interests. For that reason we invite you to share your ideas for making our Parent Center even more helpful.

We ask that you contact us with ideas and suggestions about the kinds of topics and questions you would like to be covered in the Parent Center.  In developing the Center we convened a group of parents from across the country. Their experiences and advice guided NCLD. Likewise, the information you share with us about your own experiences will help us know what questions still remain and will guide us in the development and improvement of new resources for the Parent Center.

To share your suggestions and to offer feedback about the Parent Center, please e-mail our help inbox at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , or write to NCLD at 381 Park Avenue South, Suite 1401, New York, NY 10016. We look forward to hearing your ideas and comments.

Have a safe and enjoyable summer and, as always, we encourage you to pass this newsletter along to family, friends and anyone in your life who wants to know more about learning disabilities.

Warm regards,

James H. Wendorf
