Parenting a child with learning disabilities;can be hard work, requiring one to become an advocate and mentor. Parenting a child with LD requires becoming knowledgeable about the skills necessary for healthy development and developing strategies to address daily living. It can be exciting, fun, frustrating, invigorating and extremely gratifying. 

Often times the difference between success and stress is a slight modification or alteration to the process, procedure or environment.  Each month we will be adding resource to this page to increase success and decrease parent stress.

Essential Skills to Become Your Child's Advocate

Learning the essential skills necessary to becoming your child's advocate and ensuring your child receives an appropriate education, does not require lots of money or even years of schooling, it requires learning five (5) basic skills and consistently implementing them with the school community.
