Letter from NCLD (LD News: February 2006)

Dear NCLD Supporters and Constituents,

This month NCLD is proud to share some exciting new features with you. As you may have noticed, LD.org has a new look! If you have not recently visited our Web site, we urge you to do so: we have added new content and exciting new features, including special sections devoted to parents, to educators, and to both children and adults with LD.  One new feature is ’Voices of LD,’ which presents real stories from real people with learning disabilities.

LD News is also featuring this month a heart-felt story about a mother and daughter's journey with learning disabilities. In her new book, "A Special Education: One Family's Journey Through the Maze of Learning Disabilities," fashion designer Dana Buchman and daughter Charlotte reveal the challenges their family faced in respect to Charlotte's learning disability. An excerpt from the book can be read here, while books can be ordered from Amazon.com here. Please click through and read our interviews with both mother and daughter.

Dana Buchman will be honored at NCLD's Annual Benefit Dinner on April 26, 2006. She is donating her proceeds from her book to NCLD, helping to fund our programs for families with children with LD. We are truly honored by this generous donation.

Thank you for your continued support and we hope you enjoy this issue of LD News.

Warm regards,

James H. Wendorf
