Internship Opportunities

NCLD offers internship opportunities to high school and college students throughout the calendar year. Internship applications are welcome at any time, and candidates are carefully selected based on personal recommendations, the skills they bring, their level of interest and commitment to NCLD’s mission, and when possible, a face-to-face interview.

The Regina Cooper Internship – For Individuals With LD and/or ADHD

The Regina Cooper Internship is an opportunity for college students or recent graduates with learning disabilities (LD) and/or Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to work with members of the NCLD team on a variety of projects across different program areas within the organization. The purpose of this internship is to provide opportunities for interns to contribute meaningfully to the work of NCLD, while honing interests and developing skills that will be helpful for career development and for successful transition to higher education or the workplace.

Individual Giving Intern

The Individual Giving Intern will work with the Development Team and directly assist the Individual Giving Officer with various tasks such as data entry and analysis, donor prospect research, creating donor profiles, assisting with donor cultivation event planning, strategizing for online and direct mail campaigns, and research for miscellaneous projects.

Public Policy Intern

The public policy internship program at NCLD allows bachelor and graduate-level students to interact with DC policymakers and members of the NCLD staff on a variety of tasks. Policy internships take place in our Washington, DC office, located at 1101 Vermont Avenue NW, Suite 400.
