By NCLD Public Policy Team

About the Issue

The ABLE Act of 2013 is an identical bill in both the House (H.R. 647) and Senate (S. 313). It will allow children and adults with disabilities to accrue tax-free savings without risking the loss of other vital government benefits. If approved, "ABLE accounts" would help families do long-term financial planning for their child with a disability by setting aside money for education, transportation, housing, employment support, health and wellness, assistive technology, personal care assistance, and other important supports for independence and success.

Please join NCLD in supporting these bills.
