Education Funding Flexibility Bill Clears House Committee
The House Committee on Education and the Workforce voted to support a spending flexibility that allows funds to be directed away from our most disadvantaged students. The National Center for Learning Disabilities opposes the flexibility bill because it undermines the targeting of resources for students with disabilities and other disadvantaged populations.

Innovation Schools Catch On
NCLD cautions parents about charter schools in our Elementary and Secondary Education Act recommendations. NCLD will also be paying close attention to innovation schools and how they include students with learning disabilities.

Schools Chiefs See a Path to Proposing Their Own Accountability Systems
The New York Times reports that schools may seek their own systems of accountability if Congress doesn't modify No Child Left Behind. Students with learning disabilities need to be accounted for in our schools and held to the same standards as their peers.
