October is an important month. Not only is it LD Awareness Month, but it’s ADHD Awareness Month, too. We talk often about Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder on LD.org. About 33 percent of people with LD also have ADHD. People with ADHD also often struggle with similar executive function issues as individuals with LD. This relationship between LD and ADHD is clearly a strong one—which is why our organization now creates resources to help parents of children with all learning and attention issues. ADHD Awareness Month has a website dedicated to getting the facts straight about ADHD. Help them spread the word about ADHD—just like you’re doing this month for LD—by sharing useful resources vetted by national experts and tweeting in the #ADHDAwareness hashtag. We definitely will be!
And don’t forget about the ADHD resources on LD.org. A list of a few of them is below.
