Last year I mused on a long list of reasons why I and others might express thanks as we approach Thanksgiving, the quintessential American holiday. This year, my list is short.

As a New York-based organization, NCLD gives thanks for riding out Sandy with no loss of life. One of our team members lost her home, and we eagerly await Regina's return to our headquarters and we wish her strength as she deals with the storm's aftermath. NCLD got back  on its feet quickly and immediately renewed our outreach efforts to support families.

We wish all of our friends and supporters your own reasons to give thanks this year. I hope it is a long list!
