Happy New Year! Now that 2013 has arrived, the NCLD team is hard at work planning and creating new resources for our community. But for the sake of “Auld Lang Syne”—or for old time’s sake—we thought we’d look back at a 2012 LD.org standout: videos! Throughout last year, we dedicated ourselves to providing extensive multimedia content. As a result, we put together roughly 50 new videos.

• Down & Up: The Journey of a Child with LD: An NCLD team member drew this uplifting animation by hand right here in the NCLD office. Watch to the end for info on how to send a free e-card to loved ones. 
• Get Inspired: Teen with LD Jonathan Ferrera: This high school senior, who has difficulty with information processing, shares his perspective on growing up with LD, and his dreams. 
• Exclusive Interview with Bully Director Lee Hirsch: We talked one-on-one with the creator of the eye-opening and at times heartbreaking documentary Bully (a potential Academy Award contender this year). 
• What If Your Child Is Not Eligible for an IEP?: This question was asked repeatedly by our Facebook community in 2012, so we asked Markay Winston, Chief Officer of Instructional Learning Supports for Chicago Public Schools, to answer. 
• Reading Tips for Children with LD: Best-selling children’s book author Andrea Davis Pinkney, who has two children with learning disabilities, shares practical and creative tips on how to encourage young people to read. 
• Dyslexia: A Landmark Case: We received fantastic feedback on this inspiring video featuring Marilyn Barlett. Dr. Bartlett was initially denied accommodations for bar exam, filed a landmark lawsuit, and won!
• What Is a 504 Plan?: NCLD Public Policy Director Laura Kaloi sheds light on what can at times be a confusing topic for parents. 
• How Do I Request an Evaluation?:Another common question from our Facebook community, this one was also answered by NCLD Public Policy Director Laura Kaloi.
• What Is Executive Function?: Our community is exceedingly interesting in the topic of executive function and how it affects learning. Dr. Horowitz responded.
