No Child Left Behind (NCLB) introduced several provisions that provide opportunities for students attending Title I schools to change schools or to obtain additional instructional support while their schools improve their performance. Students with disabilities have the same rights to these opportunities as students without disabilities.
This Parent Advocacy Brief, Making the Most of Options for IDEA-eligible Students, outlines the school choice and supplemental educational services opportunities that might be available to students, based on the provisions of No Child Left Behind. It also highlights important points to consider and questions parents can ask.
