Students with learning disabilities (LD) need to have every opportunity to pass "high-stakes" tests with their classmates. The rapidly growing use of assessments to make important decisions about individual students is of particular concern to parents of students with LD.
The use of a student's performance on a single assessment (or test) can pose serious obstacles with major consequences for your student with LD, including increases in grade retention, drop-out and the awarding of alternative types of diplomas that will limit your child's opportunities after high school.
