Brittney Newcomer

Director of Instructional Design

Brittney Newcomer is the Director of Instructional Design at NCLD. Brittney comes to this work with over a decade of experience in education and a passion for working with students, teachers, and parents of individuals with attention and learning issues.

Prior to joining the NCLD team, Brittney worked at Summit Public Schools as the Curriculum Manager for Special Education. She spent 9 years at YES Prep Public Schools, most recently as a Licensed Specialist School Psychology, providing evaluations for students with attention, learning, and/or social/emotional needs. Additionally, Brittney coached and provided trainings to teachers and school leaders on how to best serve students with a variety of strengths and needs in the classroom. Brittney taught in inclusion and special education settings at KIPP Austin College Prep and P.S. 190 in Brooklyn, New York. Brittney is a 2005 Teach for America corps member.

Brittney received her B.A. in teaching from Texas A&M University, her M.A. in Special Education at Pace University and her Specialist degree in school psychology from University of Houston-Clear Lake.

Brittney lives in Houston with her husband, Eric, who is a school leader, and her two children, Lee (age 5) and Rosie (age 3). They just returned from a year-long family adventure living in Costa Rica. In her spare time, Brittney enjoys running and traveling.
