Jeff Swingle

Director of Fundraising for Understood.org

Jeff comes to Understood from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where he led a special initiative to pilot individual giving at the $5 billion agency, which works worldwide to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. Prior to UNDP, Jeff served as Associate Vice President Brand and Digital Strategy at Operation Smile, an international NGO dedicated to providing free surgical care to children born with cleft lip or cleft palate. He started his career at National Public Radio in Washington, DC and also has experience working in newspapers, higher education, and fundraising consulting.

Jeff earned an MBA from the College of William & Mary and studied history at the University of Arizona, where he was born and raised. He lives with his wife and two children in Rye, New York, where you will find his family on the beach most weekends during the summer. Jeff enjoys traveling, kayaking, camping, and exploring New York City with his kids.
