Digital Marketing Coordinator

Kayla joins Understood from the New York City Charter School Center where she served as the Marketing and Communications Manager, working to support the nonprofit’s public outreach and messaging through coordinating program marketing, media campaigns and special events. She has 7 years of digital marketing experience, including website management and social media engagement. Kayla also spent four years as the Digital News Editor for The Maritime Executive magazine.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, with a specialized focus in Public Relations from Florida International University. A South Florida native, Kayla currently resides in Harlem, serves as a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC, and enjoys traveling and the beach.
