Michele Aweeky

Senior Manager, Communications

Michele Aweeky is the Senior Manager of Communications for the National Center for Learning Disabilities. She works across teams to develop effective communications strategies that tell the story of NCLD’s impact, and to engage audiences on a number of digital platforms.

Before joining NCLD, Michele was part of the client services team at Connections Media, a full-service digital agency, where she worked with public affairs clients to lead a wide variety of digital efforts, including overseeing website development projects, executing digital marketing campaigns and developing social media strategies. Prior to that, Michele was a producer on Nick News with Linda Ellerbee, the longest-running kids’ news show on television. At Nick News, Michele helped produce 10 documentary specials per year, contributing to episode research and development, coordinating production logistics, and talking to a lot of really smart, really cool kids.

Michele holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Temple University. She is an alumna of the German-American Fulbright Commission’s Berlin Capital Program for young journalists, and an Emmy Award-winner for her work on Nick News.
