Rene Polanco

Marketing Coordinator, Understood.org

Rene Polanco is the marketing coordinator for the National Center for Learning Disabilities. He focuses on growing Understood’s organic and paid digital media efforts, and he provides support to parents by moderating comments and discussions on social media.

Before joining the Understood team, Rene worked at PR and public affairs agencies, supporting organizations in the arts, the nonprofit space and local politics. He has worked on campaigns with organizations including the 92nd Street Y, the Ford Foundation, Atlantic Philanthropies and the Knight Foundation.

Rene has a B.A. in journalism from Rutgers University, and he started his career on the PR team at the Rutgers-Eagleton Poll. He researched civil society while studying in Japan, and he also studied digital journalism in Prague.
