Trynia Kaufman

Trynia joined Understood after earning her Masters in Neuroscience and Education from Columbia University. While working on her masters, she served as an Education Consultant for Columbia and also worked on multiple research projects investigating neural correlates of learning disabilities as well as potential interventions. Trynia first became interested in the field of special education after working as the program director of a college access program for teens in the foster care system, many of whom also received special education services. She went on to work as a high school special education teacher in Tucson, Arizona and presented on teaching strategies and interventions for various professional development sessions, as well as statewide conferences.

Trynia lives in Brooklyn with her husband Craig. As a newbie to New York, she loves exploring the city and checking out as many events and shows as possible.
