Dr. Kena R. Mayberry holds the esteemed position of chief operating officer at the National Center for Learning Disabilities. She provides transformational leadership, coaching, and oversees the organization’s operations. .

With over two decades of experience in business operations management, Kena has become an expert in critical areas, including continuous process improvement strategies, organizational benchmarking, business process re-engineering, and strategic planning. Her extensive experience spans multiple industries, where she has made a profound impact on well-known industry leaders and brand ambassadors. Kena’s strong dedication to the mission of NCLD fuels her passion for helping organizations achieve their visions and performance goals.

Prior to her role at NCLD, Kena served as the organizational change management subject matter expert for the Department of Defense, contributing her expertise to ensure successful transformations within the organization. She also held the position of director of operations at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, research library under the New York Public Library, where her leadership played a crucial role in the center’s success. In addition to her role at NCLD, Kena serves as the senior editor for the Journal of Social Change and the Journal of Social, Behavioral and Health Sciences, showcasing her dedication to academic and research pursuits.

As a lifelong learner with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Kena’s educational achievements are remarkable. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from George Mason University, a master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Phoenix, and a doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology from Walden University. Kena’s pursuit of knowledge extends beyond her doctorate, as she also holds Post-Doctorate Certificates in human resource management and social impact management.
